Frequently Asked Questions
Getting Started
Can Urania work without the internet?
Some supported on-device AI processing can occur locally after the required model is available. Other operations, including model download and cloud AI, require internet access.
How do I start a new Ask Urania conversation?
Use the Refresh control in Ask Urania and confirm starting a new conversation.
What are Workflows?
Workflows save supported task patterns so they can be reused.
Where can I find my previous work?
Use History for supported work retained by the application.
AI & Models
Why is an AI option unavailable?
Availability depends on the operation, configured provider, downloaded model and current application state.
Where do I download an on-device AI model?
Open Settings → On-device AI to manage supported downloaded models.
What is the difference between on-device and cloud AI?
On-device models perform supported AI processing on the phone. Cloud AI sends the information required for the requested processing to the configured provider.
Backup & Restore
Can I back up downloaded AI models?
Yes, Urania supports backup and restore for supported downloaded AI model files.
Why does Android ask for access to the backup folder?
Android storage access is used so Urania can work with the folder you choose for supported model backup and restore.
Does model backup include my chats and transcripts?
No. Model Backup & Restore concerns supported AI model files, not chats, transcripts, recordings, documents, images, History or API keys.
Record & Files
What is the difference between Record / Audio and Translate audio?
Record / Audio focuses on capturing or selecting audio for transcription and supported understanding. Translate audio is specifically for translating audio content.
Can I ask questions about an image or document?
Supported Image / Document processing can produce content that can be used with the available Ask Urania flow.
Troubleshooting
Where can I see error or diagnostic information?
Open Settings → Logs.
Cloud Providers
Why do I need to agree before configuring a cloud provider?
The agreement confirms that you reviewed the terms shown before saving cloud-provider configuration.
